Environmental, Health and Safety Director jobs in Rochester, NY

Beyond TalentEdge has a direct hire opportunity for a Manufacturing Director of Environmental Health and Safety Recycling Industry position. This role focuses on the responsible reuse, repair, and recycling of end-of-life electronic equipment. The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will be responsible for the maintenance, management and monitoring of Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Management System.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

• Ensuring that QEH&S Management System is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with R2v3 Standard/RIOS:2016
• Reporting to management on the performance of the QEH&S Management System and any necessary changes for improvement
• Ensuring that awareness of customer requirements
• Ensuring that health and safety is properly addressed and managed within the system
• Resolve matters pertaining to the QEH&SMS
• Improve, maintain and monitor the QEHS Management System
• Oversee all QEHS Audits of facilities and processes
• Vendor relationships and compliance audits and reviews
• Document compliance monitoring, including maintaining and archiving various records
• Attend relevant compliance training sessions and conferences
• Documents non-conformities and its process, management agenda meetings, corrective action reports, facility inspection reports, emergency drills, equipment condition reports, injury/incident investigations, employee training records, forklift training and certification, SDS sheets
• Ensure all actions and products comply with the company's commitment to quality and regulations governing the QEHS Management System
• Working closely with multiple departments consisting of Operations, HR, Logistics, Product Sales and Admin
• Provide technical and administrative support for permit applications, reporting, and regulatory compliance as it pertains to universal waste, storm water, electronics, solid waste, hazardous waste, etc. on a federal, state, and/or local level

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS & compliance field
• Ability to balance compliance with business needs and help to incorporate both.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Highly proficient with MS Office 365

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
