Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As an Environmental Project Manager/Licensed Site Professional (LSP) with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will be responsible for managing current clients and developing new business, as well as managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and providing senior direction on a variety of projects for real estate, manufacturing, industrial, governmental, waste management and energy clients.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Geology, Environmental Science or Civil/Environmental Engineering (MS a plus);
    • 10 years applicable experience in hazardous waste site investigation/remediation;
    • Ability to speak and write professionally, including experience with the preparation of regulatory submittals under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP);
    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, budgeting and cost control;
    • Demonstrated experience supervising technical and administrative staff;
    • Strong leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills;
    • Demonstrated business development and client management experience required;
    • Experience with characterization of soils and groundwater at RCRA, CERCLA, and Brownfield sites, as well as developing remediation strategies;
    • Experience developing, managing, and/or performing due diligence, regulatory compliance and environmental management system audits;
    • Phase I/II environmental assessments for real estate development;
    • Site investigation/remediation under state voluntary programs and RCRA Corrective Action;
    • P.E. or P.G.;
    • Environmental compliance experience (spill response plans, water/waste permitting, compliance audits, etc.);
    • Existing client connections.
