Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Your experience will allow you to support field technicians and serve as a go-to for the company’s founder. To be considered for the position, the candidate must have a degree in a science-related or environmental health and safety discipline. Registration as an industrial hygienist or professional geologist or the capacity to become registered is desirable. Varied projects will allow you to provide indoor air quality assessments (asbestos, lead, mold, radon, etc.) and abatement oversight, in-office work, and fieldwork. Experience in Phase I and Phase II environmental site investigations will be of great benefit.

    Typical responsibilities will include:

    • Design and execution of projects
    • Preparation of technical proposals
    • Field sampling and data collection
    • Independent technical analysis of data
    • Preparation of technical reports and other documents
    • Client communication
    • Assist with business development
    • Subcontractor oversight and management
