Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Ecological Project Manager

    As an Environmental Specialist/Ecologist/Wetland Scientist at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll join our interdisciplinary teams of subject matter experts and support a wide range of environmental assessments for federally funded or permitted projects (oil & gas, transportation, mining, renewables, HUD Environmental Reviews) and other federal/state grant programs. You will lead NEPA resource assessments, FERC resource assessments, perform wetland and stream delineations, conduct ecological field surveys; prepare reports and permit applications; and interact with clients and regulatory agencies.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. (preferably a M.S.) degree in a natural sciences field (e.g., Ecology, Biology, Environmental Sciences);
    • 5 years of experience preparing environmental studies (e.g., NEPA documents, FERC resource reports, field reports, feasibility studies, etc.);
    • 5 years of experience performing natural resource assessments including wetland and stream delineations;
    • Working knowledge and project experience with environmental policies and regulations (e.g., NEPA, NHPA, Section 106, Section 7) that require environmental and regulatory assessments for various Federal agencies (e.g., DOE, DOD, FERC, HUD);
    • Ability to manage multiple activities and work on a team of technical professionals;
    • Strong leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills.

    Additional qualifications that are a plus:

    • Completion of a 40-Hour wetland delineation training course;
    • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification;
    • Technical expertise with Sections 401 and 404 Clean Water Act regulations and permitting;
    • Experience with threatened and endangered species surveys and habitat assessments;
    • Proficiency in geographic information systems (GIS).
