Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary

    The Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for environmental services (EVS) and linen distribution operations for one or more facilities that meet Joint Commission, DOH and MultiCare system standards. The Manager ensures a high level of cleanliness, appearance and customer service to patients, visitors and staff is continuously maintained; provides staff leadership; serves as a subject matter expert; monitors key performance, quality and financial indicators; monitors regulatory compliance; formulates, communicates and analyzes budget(s) and contributes to quality improvement of the standard EVS and Linen operating model within the facility.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or four years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered
    • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Healthcare Environmental Services Leadership
    • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional preferred
    • Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity
    • Experience leading a unionized workforce preferred

    Pay and Benefit Expectations

    We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $80,517.00 - $115,877.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
