Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     NOVA Engineering is hiring a CMT Project Manager to work on Construction Materials Testing (CMT) & Special Inspection (SI) projects throughout the Jacksonville, FL area reporting to the Tallahassee, FL office. 

    Duties include:

    • Field engineering duties including data reduction, analysis & fieldwork for commercial, industrial, retail, government, office and residential projects
    • Assisting with project management & reporting
    • Field inspection, sampling & testing of soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, etc.
    • Report preparation
    • Client consultation and maintenance
    • Providing assistance to other NOVA team members to promote the overall objectives of the company.

    The preferred candidate will have:

    • 5 years experience in construction materials testing and/or special inspections
    • Certifications in ACI and/or ICC such as Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Post Tensioned Concrete
    • Valid state driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
    • BS in Civil Engineering with PE or ability to obtain
