    SUMMARY

    The Fleet Administrator / Purchasing Planner is responsible in assisting, administrating, and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Assist with safety training and communication programs.

    Supports managing and developing of Sourcing Strategies for product and service supply,

    partnering with stakeholders from multiple departments, to develop strategies and manage strategic programs.  These strategic programs may include developing sourcing plans in support of Indirect Sourcing categories such as, IT, HR, MRO, Logistics and Facilities.

    Essential Functions Statement(s):

    • Assist field service technicians and branch managers with scheduling maintenance and repair services for fleet equipment at all Signode, locations in US and Canada.
    • Maintain fleet maintenance records in accordance with the DOT requirements and company document record retention policies.
    • Keep track of the process vehicle registration for new, existing, and disposed vehicles.
    • Communicate and keep drivers up to date with all requirements of Signode Vehicle Policy and Procedure Manual.
    • Create binders for new units, and update existing binders with new registrations, insurance, etc.
    • Coordinate required annual DOT inspections when required.
    • Support fuel card users with fueling and authorization issues, ordering new and replacement fuel cards, and running periodic fuel reports (consumption, spend and emissions).
    • Assist safety with accident repair scheduling of fleet equipment involved in accidents.
    • Support managing violations by enforcing Signode Policy to drivers.
    • Support with transferring vehicles withing the company.
    • Support managing current Indirect suppliers and negotiating new suppliers as per required by stakeholders.
    • Prepare supplier selection recommendations - including RFQ process, supplier evaluation and communication, and participation in sourcing decisions.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Education: 

    • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree.

    Experience/abilities:

    • 1-3 years of experience in Fleet Planning/Sourcing or a related discipline.
    • Purchasing or Sourcing consulting background preferred
    • Demonstrated project management success and broad knowledge of project management tool set.
    • Effective quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, or other database technologies with an ability to calculate summary, financial, and/or statistical data.
    • Ability to engage and communicate effectively to multiple global stakeholders.
    • Experience in multi-national, global operations preferred
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Multi-lingual proficiency preferred, English fluency required


    Computer skills:

    • Strong MSOffice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.
