    Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of custodial employees providing services to KMHS facilities.
    This position is also responsible for the daily oversight of regulatory standards and collaboration with other management and supervisory team members to support the department’s daily functions.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Supervise the necessary resources needed for the Environmental Services department under their control and make recommendations for hiring, promoting, and annual staff performance reviews.
    • Supervises a waste program that separates, packages, and disposes of all waste according to all regulations.
    • Performs quality improvement initiatives under the direction of the Facilities Director. Conducts rounding activities to ensure environmental hygiene in all areas assigned. Prepares necessary reporting to the director(s) and documents results.
    • Manages the bed tracing system and ensures EVS response times are achieved. Prepare reports and document results, collaborating with Facilities Director to develop improvement activities.
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of the cleaning and disinfection principles and requirements to be in line with AAPA Custodial Standards, proper chemical, equipment usage, and labor requirements for maintenance of furniture, furnishing, and interior finishes for all areas of responsibility.
    • Provides oversight of inventories, usage data, and ordering of consumable supplies and equipment repairs.
    • Supervises subcontractors and/or EVS suppliers' work for the department as needed.
    • Responds to emergency calls and multiple priorities to coordinate staffing changes and minimize disruption.
    • Conduct patient and staff interviews to evaluate service levels and promote positive public relations. Actively participate and contributes to efforts to improve patient experience and cleanliness scores key departmental performance metrics.
    • Controls expenditures within the sphere of approved budget objectives. Take corrective action when variances affect the budget.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    EXPERIENCE: 2 years of job-related experience as lead or supervisory experience.

    This position requires driving in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    EXPERIENCE: 3 years in environmental services and or acute care-related support

    departments.

    1 Year in supervisory level experience managing staff.
