Hiring- Medical Epidemiologist

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health is looking for a Medical Epidemiologist for their Carson City location. Please respond if you are interested and we will contact you right away, thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.

Responsible for assisting with the planning, directing, and managing the activities, operations, and staff of the Epidemiology unit; serves as medical community liaison; performs investigation of complex cases and outbreaks and provides expert consultation.

This is a management-level position, and may include being the subject matter expert in the areas of clinical epidemiology, outbreaks, and disease investigations.

Analyzes epidemiological data, interprets the results to identify communicable disease patterns in the community, and contributes to the development of disease control interventions and prevention strategies.

Evaluates and investigates unusual disease reports from laboratories, physicians, and others.

Participates in field investigations at hospitals, physician offices, laboratories, clinics, food establishments, childcare facilities, or other locations as necessary to complete medical epidemiologic investigations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Medical Doctorate Degree: AND four (4) years of professional experience in public health or healthcare setting focused on epidemiological investigations or population health two (2) years of which were in a supervisory role; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

· Nevada Driver’s License.

Licensure as a physician in the State of Nevada

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $85.00 per hour
