Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Equipment Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Field Technician

  • Field Technician manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. They are responsible for the service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.

    Essential Functions

    • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shop
    • Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections
    • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assigned
    • Participate in all training programs directed by Service Manager
    • Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use
    • Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations
    • Completes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via email
    • Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and customer expectation is exceeded
    • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
    • Tie workflow to schedule
    • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
    • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
    • Produce timely and detailed service reports
    • Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems
    • Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols
    • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
    • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
    • Build positive relationships with customers
    • Exhibit strong teamwork

    Required Education and Experience

    • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
    • Proven field service experience
    • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
    • Must have own tools • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
    • Ability to work flexible shifts

    Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

    • Environment is consistent with that of construction, heavy equipment, and repair yard
    • May work in extreme conditions on job sites Travel Required
    • Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites

    Physical Demands

    Must be physically able to work in a jobsite environment for extensive periods to include lifting up to 50lbs, bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching. Must be physically able to work in extreme conditions on job sites Night / Weekend On-Call work required
