EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
Erika Record Baking Equipment, a growing bakery equipment distributor in Northern New Jersey, is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the multi-faceted role of an Equipment Technician. We are looking for a highly driven individual with a strong understanding of equipment electrical systems, a strong mechanical foundation, the ability to work well and communicate in a team environment, and the ability to adapt to tasks that may change several times a day.
Responsibilities
Learn how to repair and maintain the various systems of the equipment we represent.
Answer incoming support hotline calls. This includes providing technical support andassistance inordering parts.
Render service to our customers at their facilities promptly and professionally.
Participate in equipment installation and end-user operational training.
Participate in department planning, including weekly department meetings and providing feedback when prompted.
Active management of assigned tasks, including ongoing repairs, customer work orders, andremanufacturing efforts.
Provide technical support to the sales team.
Participate in industry trade shows. This includes on-site booth preparation, assisting visitors during show hours, post-show cleanup, etc.
Prepare and maintain work orders on both jobs currently being performed and long-term projects.
Participate in daily shipping and receiving activities if needed.
Requirements
A working knowledge and experience with computerized logic systems (PLCs, HMIs, etc.).
A working knowledge and experience with electrical power conditioners (Frequency drives, Phase inverters, buck/boost transformers).
Must be able to read electrical schematics.
A basic foundation in mechanical repair is preferable.
3 years of commercial/industrial equipment service experience.
High school diploma.
A strong work ethic, driven and self-motivated team player capable of meeting individual and company goals.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
A customer service-oriented approach towards each client interaction.
Willingness to learn.
Willingness to participate in activities not directly tied to service and parts.
Knowledge (both verbal and written) of foreign languages is a plus, especially Spanish.
Must own basic hand tools.
Some travel may be required.
