Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Equipment Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     DIRECTOR OF COMPACT CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT

     (Outside Sales in Large Construction & Forestry Equipment Industry)

    Salary Range: $100,00 to $150,000 depending on many factors including experience and skill set.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Work with the Sales Director to interpret, administer, and communicate all sales programs to Sales Department personnel for compact construction equipment.
    • Lead efforts to grow sales and market share in the compact construction equipment segment for Five Star Equipment. 
    • Grow and develop customer relationships and loyalty to increase market share.
    • Assist with trade allowances and used equipment valuation as requested by the Director of Sales and Sales Managers for compact construction equipment.
    • Ordering and inventory management responsibilities of Compact Construction Equipment items (Deere only).  
    • Manage sales staff who are dedicated to Compact Construction Equipment.  This role would also have interaction with field service technicians who specialize in supporting compact construction equipment. 
    • Assist with driving value to the customer by providing comprehensive equipment solutions, with compelling purchase options.
    • Be fully engaged with growing our customer base.
    • Proven ability to build and grow sales in a team environment.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    REQUIREMENTS: 

     

    • 3-5 years of successful experience meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a highly competitive outside sales role. 
    • Existing industry knowledge of compact construction equipment, valuation techniques, deal making, and retail financing programs.  Prior experience dealing with manufacturer incentive programs is preferred.
    • Must be a self-starter, have a positive attitude, display honesty, and good work ethic.
    • Results oriented. 
    • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills. 
    • Ability to use laptop computer and software applications such as the CDK business system, Microsoft Office, and Internet functions.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports. 
    • Manages one’s own time, resources and performs to the best of their ability under all work conditions, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible hours as well as work in various demanding environmental conditions.
    • Communicates effectively.  Can solve problems whether conceptual or concrete in nature with little to no assistance.
    • Excellent customer relationship skills. 
    • Excellent negotiator, communicator and relationship builder.
