Rotating Equipment Engineer

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Shift: 1st shift

Role Summary: 

• The Rotating Equipment Engineer will manage large projects across operational locations. This may include job site projects or in-shop projects. This includes “hand-on” engineering and job work. 

Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Technical Support to all repair operations & locations.
• Acceptable repair methods, technical reporting, electrical and mechanical testing methods, electric motor engineering & design.
• Corporate Lead on GoFormz – Handle form setups, processes, & workflows.
• Continuously optimize performance of the GoFormz system so it can support all operations. This includes the actual database level setups through the GoFormz GUI interface.
• Corporate lead on TracRat – Works with technology vendor on upgrades, support, etc. be responsible for adding/removing access, setups, etc. Manage the TracRat process working closely with EMS personnel.
• Work closely with internal management and external vendors on DataLake and interconnection of technology systems.
• Lead technology adoption at all operational locations working closely with local Operations Managers. This includes Traverse, TracRat & GoFormz but expected to evolve as new technology is added such as connected equipment, etc.
• Lead process control and documentation efforts across all operational locations working closely with local Operations Managers. This includes proper documentation of testing & measurements, exception reports, repair reports, inspection reports, etc. 
• Manage calibration efforts across all operational locations.
• Ensure equipment calibrations are performed on time and accurately, working closely with operation managers.
• Corporate lead on quality forms & documentation devolvement and implementation as process and procedure develop, evolve or change.
• Train and document on all process and technology related items across the entire company.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years of experience working directly with industrial rotating equipment (pumps, fans, motors, gearboxes, etc.) in industrial environments or repair shop. 
• Willingness to “get dirty” and be a hands-on engineer, including being part of a working crew at times. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight 
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time 
• Ability to perform manual labor for up to 12 or more hours per day 
• Ability to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
