Description
The Intralogistics Engineering Director is responsible for developing and leading Bailey’s Intralogistics Engineering department, which includes warehouse design, racking, conveyor, automated storage and retrieval systems, material handling robotics, consulting, dock and door installation, construction, and other engineered solutions.
This is an intrapreneurial role involving strategy, business development, team building (recruiting, training, and coaching), and operational execution, and will require some regional travel. Given this person’s skillset, project management of other company efforts and initiatives will be required at times. The Intralogistics Director reports directly to the Co-President.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Develop and grow Bailey’s Intralogistics Engineering department, successfully designing and executing Intralogistics projects to drive revenue for warehouse design, racking, conveyor, AGV / automation, automated storage and retrieval systems, material handling robotics (goods-to-person robotics, etc.), operations consulting, and other engineered solutions.
b) Ensure intralogistics projects are well designed, managed and executed within budget by the Intralogistics Engineering team.
c) Collaborate with other stakeholders to define strategy for Intralogistics, including solution prioritization, partner strategy, and operational plan.
d) Hire and manage a team of CAD designers, intralogistics application engineers, and project managers.
e) Negotiate and execute contracts, permits, insurance requirements, and other legal agreements that properly protect Bailey, and set up successful partnerships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
f) Develop new partnerships with solutions providers, suppliers, subcontractors, and referral partners.
g) Work with Marketing to build awareness and generate leads for intralogistics; Lead business development in partnership with Sales team.
h) Support the growth of narrow / very narrow aisle equipment and telematics.
i) Oversee pricing and promotion strategy for intralogistics solutions.
j) Supports Bailey’s zero waste and sustainability efforts through process improvement, waste reduction, and the delivery of environmentally sustainable solutions.
k) Project manage other initiatives and projects (construction, integrations, etc.), and handle additional tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.
