Equipment Engineering Director directs equipment engineering activities within an organization. Plans and develops policies and procedures for designing, developing and implementing equipment. Being an Equipment Engineering Director ensures all equipment engineering projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies and objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Equipment Engineering Director typically reports to top engineering management. The Equipment Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Duties
Major duties include the following :
Perform operation of skid steer loaders, dozers, excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, 60 plus horsepower tractors with attachments, snowplows, sand / salt spreaders, single and tandem axle, all-wheel drive dump trucks, and trailers.
Utilizes equipment with different attachments and controls, multi-wheel drive, track drive, and several different types of braking systems.
Operate gasoline or diesel power equipment with wheel or crawler traction such as skid steer loaders, dozers, excavators, rollers, asphalt spreader, tractors, snowplows, front-end loaders, backhoe, tractor with lowboy trailer, and log and brush chippers.
Cut, dig, level, and move earth, sand, snow, and other material.
