Equipment Engineering Director directs equipment engineering activities within an organization. Plans and develops policies and procedures for designing, developing and implementing equipment. Being an Equipment Engineering Director ensures all equipment engineering projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies and objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Equipment Engineering Director typically reports to top engineering management. The Equipment Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Equipment Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. As an Equipment Technician (also known as Machine Technician, Technical Support Specialist), you'll be responsible for the repair and maintenance of various equipment systems. Your role will also involve providing technical support, managing assigned tasks, participating in equipment installation and training, and assisting in department planning. - Ability to read electrical schematics and a basic foundation in mechanical repair.
- High school diploma.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a customer service-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in PLC Troubleshooting, Creating Preventive Maintenance Plans, Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting, and Hydraulics Experience.
- Experience with Servo Motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
