Equipment Engineering Manager manages equipment engineering activities within an organization. Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, developing and implementing equipment. Additionally, Equipment Engineering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. As a Manager, Manufacturing/Equipment Engineering supporting Engineering Manufacturing, you will be trusted to work on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods at Johns Creek, GA, USA.

    In this role, a typical day will include:

    • Manage a small team of Equipment Engineers
    • Learn and specialize in manufacturing equipment
    • Specify requirements and procedures for new and existing equipment
    • Purchase and own the installation and qualification of new equipment and retrofits
    • Adapt manufacturing equipment in response to factory conditions
    • Conduct tests through all stages of production to improve control over applicable variables and troubleshoot/solve production problems
    • Develop and perform change control and qualification activities
    • Provide guidance to Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Training on technical details that will best use equipment and manufacturing techniques
    • Ensure that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 13 yrs.; Assoc. 9 yrs.; M.S. 2 yrs.; PhD 1 yr.)
    • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
    • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
    • 3 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
    • Work hours: Exempt
    • Travel Requirements: 2-10%
    • Relocation assistance: Yes

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelors in engineering field (mechanical, electrical, etc.)
    • Computer programming experience
