Equipment Manager manages daily operations for the equipment procurement, inventory management and maintenance function. Tracks the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Manager minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Tracks equipment quality throughout the product lifetime and makes recommendations for alternatives if needed. Additionally, Equipment Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Equipment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     The Delivery Logistics Manager is responsible for reviewing current Delivery Department processes and developing new processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Implement any new processes, procedures or software that is agreed upon by upper management. Review current fleet type and size and provide recommendations for any changes.  Create efficiency and cost reporting and present data in a routine fashion. 
     
    Essential Job Duties:
     

    Develop an understanding of the Company’s current Delivery Department processes and procedures:
    • Work with Inside Rental Sales team on the life cycle of a Rental Contract.
    • Work with Regional Load Planners to understand day-to-day challenges and issues.
    • Work with Rental Yard Personnel and Fleet Maintenance Coordinators on machine readiness and current procedures.
    • Understand how the Company’s business software works and how Bill of Lading’s are tracked and created today.

     Develop, Maintain and Distribute new processes or procedures:
    • Work with Delivery Department Admin and Management staff to develop and implement more efficient and cost reducing processes.
    • Create and distribute material to train drivers on new processes.
    • Work with Inside Rental Sales personnel and Rental Yard personnel to implement new processes and procedures.

    Implement and train on new software:
    • Implement any new software the company may purchase to become more efficient or reduce costs.
    • Train Regional Load Planners and Drivers on any new software or hardware recommended and approved.

    Review current fleet size and type:
    • Work with Delivery Department Manager on current fleet size and type.  Provide feedback and recommendations on different types of trucks or where additional trucks may be needed.
    • Work with Delivery Department Manager on specifying new trucks and reducing costs, where applicable.
    • Ensure a Vehicle Maintenance Plan is in place and completed for all types of trucks.

    Create reporting to track efficiency and cost:
    • Work with Rental Department Business Analyst to create reports to track efficiency and costs.
    • Provide monthly and quarterly updates to upper management.
    • Provide auto-generated reports to lower-level management and drivers.
      
    Qualifications:
     

    Required Skills/Experience:
    • Minimum 21 years of age
    • Background in Logistics or Transportation Industry
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft products including Office
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
    • Ability to learn the Company’s Business Operating System
    • Excellent communication and management skills
    • Well developed motivational and leadership skills
     
    Preferred Skills/Experience:
    • 1-2 years Logistics and Transportation Experience
     
    Other Requirements
    • Ability to travel to other Company locations or Vendor sites for training and support.
     
    Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Business Administration
     
    Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
    This position will be working in indoor office environment with a controlled climate.  This position may travel to other company locations.  The normal auto hazards will apply.  This position requires sitting at a computer desk for extended periods of time with use of a computer keyboard and use of hands to type.  This position will continuously talk, hear, and read in verbal and written communication.
