Equipment Manager manages daily operations for the equipment procurement, inventory management and maintenance function. Tracks the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Manager minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Tracks equipment quality throughout the product lifetime and makes recommendations for alternatives if needed. Additionally, Equipment Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Equipment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     The Reynolds Farm Equipment Store Manager will be responsible for the achievement of the location business plan objectives and fulfilling the expectations of all stakeholders (owners, customers, and employees).  Provides leadership in evaluating, allocating, and managing human, physical and financial resources for the location. Optimizes the profitable growth of the business, the personal growth of employees, and the satisfaction of customers. The Store Manager must practice confidentiality both in and out of dealership and maintain positive culture, attitude, and collective composure while working to improve teamwork between all dealership personnel. Most importantly, perform all duties with honesty, integrity, and adherence to the Company Values.
     
    Position Specifics:
     
    Reports directly to: COO, may report to any member of the Executive Team
     
    Directly Supervises: Store Location’s Parts Manager, Service Manager, Sales Representatives, Sales support staff, general departmental interns
     
    Responsibilities:
    • Executes the business plan and achieves financial performance, including sales, budgets and cost control, according to established goals for a location(s)
    • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with all existing and new customers and resolves any elevated customer issues
    • Ensures that appropriate communication takes place within and across all departments at the store location(s) which may include leading regular department management staff meetings and all employee meetings
    • Communicates the dealership values, principles, vision and mission within their location
    • Communicates and works with other Store Managers, Corporate Managers, HR, and Executives to implement best practices and consistent processes for all departments within the organization
    • Supports Corporate Managers in implementing changes in any department within the location
    • Ensures the successful planning and execution of marketing activities and events
    • Oversees maintenance, security and a professional appearance of the facility and property for the location
    • May represent the company for the sale of machinery to key customers as needed
    • Provides input to the hiring, development and coaching, evaluation, and effectiveness of the management team and other employees within their store
    • Works alongside HR and Corporate Managers to gain deeper employee experience understanding (e.g., culture standards, employee development, safety practices, and etc.)
    • Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
    • Promote safety requirements and procedures in alignment with company’s policies
    • Promote and maintain positive attitude, culture, and relationship by positively affecting all stakeholders; be a positive asset and problem-solving ambassador for Reynolds
    • Handle day-to-day operations and specific tasks in a fast-paced environment and other duties assigned in the totality of the stores’ aspects
    Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge Preferences:
    • 5 years experience in a retail environment
    • 1 additional years experience as a parts or service manager or in a sales role preferred, but not required
    • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
    • Experience dealing with elevated customer and employee issues
    • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others
    • Knowledge of financial metrics, marketing experience and a solid understanding of sales, parts and service operations
    • Solid analytical, business planning, problem solving, and communication skills
    • Knowledge of farming or operational practices preferred, but not required
    • Exceptional ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions; experience using CDK, sales workflow, Service ADVISOR™, Dealerpath, Parts ADVISOR™, John Deere University, and other computer-based software utilized to complete tasks in sales, service, and parts departments preferred but not required
    • Ability to use a (CRM) Customer Relationship Management application
    • Clear and proactive communication skills along with exceptional ability to use communication systems with quality and professional phone and email etiquette
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and within a group
    • Ability to analyze, interpret, and strategize with financial/budgetary reports
    • An ability to be creative and innovative to find solutions to situations, knowing when to ask for guidance, and willingness to accept the need for changes or solutions on continuous arising issues when a new idea does not fix the issue(s).
    • Basic knowledge of accounting practices
    • Proficient knowledge of data entry/keyboarding skills; Communicates effectively verbally and written while working cooperatively in a team environment; skills in computing full details and proper and professional paperwork without hesitation
    • Knowledge of office procedures & proper business procedures
    • Proven ability to manage projects which would include multi-tasking, prioritizing, and successfully managing multiple events simultaneously
    • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying and to actively look for ways to help others
    • Requires attention to detail and being careful along with being thorough in completing tasks or projects
    • Strong people and communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills
