Equipment Manager manages daily operations for the equipment procurement, inventory management and maintenance function. Tracks the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Manager minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Tracks equipment quality throughout the product lifetime and makes recommendations for alternatives if needed. Additionally, Equipment Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Equipment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. We are looking for an extroverted individual who has strong communications skills and a desire to work with people to provide them with optimal solutions to their equipment needs. A successful candidate will enthusiastically and proactively engage with our walk-in customer base as well as build and maintain a customer base that will be built from square one. In addition, this person will work in the market and advertise our products and services as necessary to drive increased traffic into the store.     What You'll Do

    • Represent and sell products and/or services to walk-in, online, and phone customers.
    • Seek to engage with customers, build rapport, understand their needs, and then offer solutions that best fit those needs.
    • Provide robust customer service with a positive attitude to ensure the highest customer satisfaction possible.
    • Engage with the Marketing Department in the development of strategic marketing and advertising plans.
    • Customer Service may include onsite machine startup and training with the customer.
    • Work as a team player willing to help in any area of the store as needed.
    • Utilize excellent organizational skills to ensure effective follow-up with customers
    • Utilize outstanding communication skills and adapt communications style to the person and/or situation.
    • Present financing options in order to assist customers
    • Constantly strive to improve knowledge of features and value of all equipment sold by the dealership
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends

    What's Preferred

    • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required. 5 years of sales experience preferred, with 3-5 years specifically in agriculture or the equine industry
    • Understanding of John Deere (or equivalent) equipment, vehicles, and implements
