Escrow Officer is responsible for providing escrow information to clients and loan officers. Supervises the preparation and delivery of all necessary escrow documents. Being an Escrow Officer provides mortgage holders with required tax documentation for filing tax returns. Ensures the process and documents are in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. Additionally, Escrow Officer may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Escrow Officer supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Escrow Officer typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Perform loan administration duties for commercial real estate loans as well as the general enforcement of loan documents on behalf of the lender. Support the functions of Document Administration, New Loan Set-up, Tax and Insurance Administration and Customer Service.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time.

    • Perform, review and identify calculation issues on escrow analyses on various escrow accounts.
    • Facilitate disbursements of property tax payments and insurance/MIP premium payments on commercial loans.
    • Communicate with borrowers and explain including shortages, payment issues, escrow analyses, surplus refunds and other loan servicing issues.
    • Work in a fast paced environment and be willing to assist others on the team as well as other departments.
    • Interact with other groups to accomplish various tasks.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to efficiently and consistently produce accurate work
    • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment with heavy interaction with borrowers
    • Ability to work in both a team or individual environment
    • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
    • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Mortgage Banking experience
    • Knowledge of commercial loan servicing
