Escrow Officer is responsible for providing escrow information to clients and loan officers. Supervises the preparation and delivery of all necessary escrow documents. Being an Escrow Officer provides mortgage holders with required tax documentation for filing tax returns. Ensures the process and documents are in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. Additionally, Escrow Officer may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Escrow Officer supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Escrow Officer typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     What does an Escrow Officer do at Northwest Title?
    • Acts as the first and primary point of contact with our clients, responsible for ensuring an excellent client experience.
    • Coordinates communication with realtors, lender, attorneys, buyers, sellers, members, etc., to prepare for closing.
    • Ensures that all items on a title insurance commitment are resolved before closing: clears title defects and obtain documentary proof to resolve a defect, or obtain signatures on documents needed to insure marketable title.
    • Prepares the Closing Disclosure and/or Settlement Statement, compliant with the purchase contract, lender closing instructions, and federal/state requirements.
    • Perform closing and settlement functions in accordance with company standards.
    • Create or maintain business relationships with realtors and lenders for the continued success of our business.
    An Escrow Officer is responsible for managing a “file” (title order), from beginning to end. They are responsible for getting a file closed and disbursed under a deadline accurately while providing excellent, professional service to our clients. They understand all parts of the real estate transaction and are on the front lines of communication with our clients. The Escrow Officer is responsible for working with other departments to get the file closed; however, they are ultimately responsible for the overall successful outcome.

    Preferred qualifications for an Escrow Officer include:
    • Experience in banking, lending, or legal, will generally be a good background starting point for training

    • Experience coordinating communication across multiple channels and people
    • Proactive problem-solver who doesn’t wait for others to instruct on what needs to be worked on
    • Ability to multi-task and work quickly, but accurately
    • Quality communication skills via email, phone, video, and in-person, including proper grammar and spelling
