Escrow Officer is responsible for providing escrow information to clients and loan officers. Supervises the preparation and delivery of all necessary escrow documents. Being an Escrow Officer provides mortgage holders with required tax documentation for filing tax returns. Ensures the process and documents are in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. Additionally, Escrow Officer may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Escrow Officer supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Escrow Officer typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Duties
o In person or Via Wire or Mobile Deposits or Send deposit confirmation to realtors
o Deposits and Reports Learn how to Review title commitments through TCT (Title Commitment Triage)o Learn how to read title requirements and understand “normal” requirements and “not so normal” requirements Communicate with the parties to the transaction regularly with status updates Learn how to order judgment, IRS, lien and many other types of payoffs Learn how to order municipal lien search and learn how to properly review and read or Escalate urgent concerns to closer as needed to Work through clearing title issues. Learn how to Order payoffs (can utilize central resources) and learn how to properly review and read. Learn how to Order estoppels (can utilize central resources) and learn how to properly review and read. Learn how to Ensure file is clear to close prior to closing date and passing file off to closer. Learn how to prepare Lender title packages. Have a clear understanding of how to take a file from the opening to processing completing to handing off to a closer. Have a clear understanding of what Title Insurance does and what it does and does not protect against. Be able to fully communicate with all parties during the processing of a file. Understand how to read a title commitment – along with what each Schedule is. Work with closer to help coordinate signings/closings/mailaways, etc. Education
