Being an Escrow Officer provides mortgage holders with required tax documentation for filing tax returns. Ensures the process and documents are in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. Additionally, Escrow Officer may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Escrow Officer supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Job Duties
Virginia Military Institute is seeking qualified applicants for one full-time Officer-in-Charge / Tactical Officer (OCT). The successful candidate will act as the commandant’s representative in the cadet Barracks during evening/night hours.
Specific responsibilities of the OCT include:
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and security of cadets and the VMI Barracks during evening/night hours, serving as “first-responders” to any emergencies or incidents which may occur.
• Supervise the cadet guard team in the maintenance of proper order and discipline.
• Ensure cadets comply with VMI regulations and directives.
• Conduct routine in-ranks inspections and inspections of cadet rooms.
• Tactical officer responsibilities include advising and mentoring cadets assigned to one of ten companies throughout the academic year.
• Other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time position, and the wearing of a military uniform is required.
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Experience working with young adults in a structured environment is preferred.
• Experience working in residence life in higher education is preferred.
• Ability to meet department and institute goals.
• Ability to communicate inclusively with all members of the VMI community.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Requires independent judgment, discretion, and diplomacy.
Additional Considerations
• Service in the armed forces.
• Prior company command or staff equivalent.
• Former drill sergeant, instructor certification, or joint service equivalent.
