Estimating Director leads the estimating function and develops standards, procedures, tools, and methodologies to produce cost estimates for technical projects based on work scope, specifications, and proposal or contract requirements. Establishes processes to perform analysis of project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements. Being an Estimating Director incorporates benchmark data, trends, and historical pricing to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations. Develops a workflow and system for scheduling and processing estimate requests and communicating with stakeholders. Additionally, Estimating Director depending on the complexity and type of project, may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Estimating Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Estimating Team Coordinator - Our Estimating Team Coordinator is energetic, detail oriented, and has strong computer, organizational and phone skills. The Coordinator values working collaboratively as a part of team driven to meet goals and models Septon Development Group’s Core Values. This individual has a strong attention to detail and follow-through.
A Successful Estimating Team Coordinator must have similar experience or education to meet the requirements of the following job duties:
· Data Entry - Data entry into Procore Project Management software (adding new projects, bids received, new subcontractors, drawings, specs, pictures, etc.)
· Maintaining Excel spreadsheets (Book of Business) for bidding, job walks, and handovers.
· Utilizing project management software and email to send projects out to subcontractors for bid.
· Tracking received proposals and entering into Procore and OneDrive
· Follow-up with subcontractors on missing proposals prior to bid
· Coordinating with estimator to answer project related questions.
· Coordinate sub walks for estimators when needed.
· Contacting Subcontractors via phone/email
· Send out project updates via correspondence as they come in this includes RFI answers, Bid notes, Addendums, Etc.
· Providing Bid results to Subcontractors
· Procore Maintenance
· Other duties as assigned or needed to fulfill the goals of the team
