Career Opportunity: Estimator ( Non-Exempt; Hourly, Full-time, On-site -in office )

Organization: Fischer Commercial Floors

Location: Billings, Montana, USA

Travel Requirements: 15%

Salary Range: $30 - $35 / hour DOE, plus a nice benefits package.

SUMMARY: The Estimator is a key role that provides critical detailed information and data to and supports our team of Project Managers. This role is responsible for analysis of blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, estimates (flooring projects, including tile, carpet, and laminate). Reviews cataloged data, software tools, and records specific information for each project. Determines most appropriate and competitive options for needed materials and labor requirements and works up into drafted estimate(s). This may require extensive consulting with Clients, Vendors, Project Managers, or other individuals to discuss and best understand the scope of the project and resolve issues. Preparation of takeoff quantity estimates is the key function for this position, in a supporting role to the Project Managers. This role is not responsible for assembling final quotes for bids.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Collect and organize all bid related documents,
• Review project RFPs, and collect blueprints, specifications, and date expectations.
• Develop a priority list for research and data collection.
• Perform take off quantities in preparation for project bidding, using MeasureSquare.
• Calculate the material quantities for the project.
• Assist Project Manager Team (PM Team) with determining and selecting the ideal products for the project(s) assigned.
• Organize information and prepare files for presentation to the assigned Project Manager(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE/TRAINING):

• A 2-year associate degree in construction management, or a related field of study.
• A valid, state issued, and insurable driver’s license.
• 2-years’ minimum experience with construction project related software.
• Proficiency with Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google based programs.
• 2-years demonstrable experience:
• Working as part of a successful team.
• Communicating with clients or architects regarding construction plans.
• Skilled in project analyses and able to demonstrate a working knowledge of construction plans and reading blueprints.

4-year degree is preferred. Experience with Bluebeam is preferred.
