JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for communicating with customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring a smooth quotation/estimate process. Required to build instant rapport and achieve customer satisfaction. Responsible for generating estimates, general sales information, product requirements, pricing, and communicating order information to project managers. Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by providing support, guidance, proper follow-up and resolution of customer inquiries, problems, or opportunities.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Have a complete understanding of relevant market products.
- Consolidate sales input to apply recommended strategy from sales into the estimate/proposal
- Review customer specifications for scope details and exclusion
- Consolidate field conditions input from Sales and customer into the estimate and proposal for field construction projects.
- Communicate with customers through email, phone, and other virtual means concerning current and/or potential orders, drawings, and technical information.
- Perform take-offs from customer supplied drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate estimate input with Engineering on non-standard design requirements.
- Coordinate with specific manufacturing plant to determine acceptable production durations.
- Coordinate with Engineering to determine acceptable engineering and drawing durations.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for any questionable QC requirements.
- Work with Purchasing or directly with subcontractors to get pricing for buy-out components.
- Review historical project performance against current project when similar scope.
- Issue completed estimate to Sales for pricing/margin decision per pricing authority matrix.
- Follow up on customer inquiries by requesting necessary drawings, technical assistance, credit approvals, delivery information, price quotes, etc.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships
- Maintain and grow existing customer base through prospecting, sales account development, quoting, and customer communication and follow-up
- Ensuring all customer sales quotes are imputed complete and accurate, sent to customers, and filed appropriately
- Advising customer on lead times, inventory levels, pricing, and freight pricing
- Participate in project kick-off meetings
- Assist customers with product questions, ordering, order tracing, complaints and issues
- Other duties as assigned by Proposal & Estimating Manager
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical experience;
- Ability to interpret drawings and plans
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in all MS Office products
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail with time management and decision-making skills
- Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment; self-directed and able to prioritize responsibilities, providing precise attention to detail
