The Estimating & Purchasing Assistant within our Construction Division will work closely with our Lead Estimator and Project Managers to provide projected costs, including the purchasing of landscape materials.

You will be responsible for:

• Review online sources and contractor requests for bidding opportunities
• Review bid documents with Project Managers and Lead Estimator
• Send plans and specifications out for copying
• Review plans and perform material quantity take-offs utilizing On-Screen Take Off Software
• Request pricing from suppliers and acquire quotes from vendors
• Contact subcontractors for bidding opportunities
• Track and publish bid results once available
• Compile submittals as required for new projects
• Order and coordinate material deliveries
• Utilize Aspire, Landscape Management Software to create and track POs, schedule work tickets, perform time entry, manage CRM data and files
• Issue and record employee safety documents

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of plants and landscape materials
• Prior work experience in the green industry (Nursery sales or similar position) or prior coursework in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or Plant Science
• Aptitude to quickly master new software applications
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects
• Valid California driver’s license
• Daily use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
