    Mission Assistant

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Assist staff with supervision of the drop in center, administrative responsibilities, community resource management, and other operations within the Behavioral Health and Employment and Career Services departments. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  (Note:  Qualified persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.  Reasonable accommodations will be made.)

    1. Responsible for providing exceptional customer service delivery to all individuals in a welcoming, hopeful and trauma informed manner.         
    2. Welcome and assist all individuals who access the drop in center and services with resource acquisition needs and make appropriate referrals.
    3. Collect and organize community resource information.
    4. Organize and/or facilitate groups at the drop in center.
    5. Provide on-site back up support to Employment Specialists and Community Support workers as needed.
    6. Ensure that accurate data is entered into the department’s data management systems (currently Credible, Therap, and CDS).
    7. Assist with department specific quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
    8. Prepare data and reports for the Behavioral Health and Employment and Career Services departments as assigned.
    9. Assist with clerical duties for the Behavioral Health and Employment and Career Services departments as designated.
    10. Responsible for phone trafficking, monitoring fax machine and distribution of faxes.
    11. Organize facility maintenance, complete safety checklists, and order supplies, as needed. 
    12. Meet attendance and appearance requirements per Goodwill policy.
    13. Perform work activities in conformance to Goodwill values (respect, integrity, compassion, stewardship, learning, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit), immediately report any wrongdoing (unethical/improper conduct, fraud, fiscal mismanagement, etc.), embrace and support cultural diversity, and encourage and support others to do all of the same.
    14. Complete other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

    1. High School education with two years’ experience in human services or employment field required, preferably with individuals with disabilities.
    2. Must be able to obtain the Nebraska DHHS Peer Support Specialist Certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain the certification.
    3. Personal experience with recovery and willing to share their recovery experience with others.
    4. Must possess strong computer skills with Windows operating system and experience with Microsoft Office programs.
    5. Knowledge and operation of a variety of office machines.
    6. Must possess strong detail and organizational skills.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Ability to communicate in spoken conversation, adequate volume speech, and have normal hearing for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
    2. Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations; to move safely about the work area.
    3. Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day.
