Ethics and Mission Integration Director - Systems incorporates the health care systems' mission, values, and philosophies into the operations, policies, and goals of the organization. Directs and develops education and training programs for employees and the community that communicate and reinforce the system's value driven mission. Being an Ethics and Mission Integration Director - Systems reviews patient care outcomes and issues to ensure alignment with the system's mission and ethics. Advises leaders with strategic planning and decision-making to ensure ethics and values are considered. Additionally, Ethics and Mission Integration Director - Systems typically requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ethics and Mission Integration Director - Systems manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Vice President of Mission Integration (VPMI) is a member of the Executive Leadership, fostering the integration of the mission, vision, values, and Catholic identity in organizational life and culture. With a deep personal spirituality, VPMI advances spirituality and cultural sensitivity as integral to healing and a healthy work environment. VPMI fosters a community of mission oriented leaders and associates, dedicated to holistic healthcare for those most vulnerable. 


    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

    • Advances the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension DePaul Services.
    • Serves as a member of the Strategic and Leadership Teams.
    • Collaborates with other leaders to integrate the mission and values in organizational policies, practices, communication, and advocacy. 
    • Fosters a Model Community of mission inspired associates with a work environment that reflects the Vision and Values of DCHC.
    • Provides leadership related to ethics education and consultations.  
    • Orients new associates, board members, contractual staff, and volunteers to the ministry identity, sponsorship, mission and core values of DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC).
    • Guides formation for leaders, associates, volunteers, and board members, using the resources available through Ascension. 
    • Deepens the mission-centered culture of DCHC marked by commitment to persons who are most vulnerable.
    • Nurtures spirituality among associates to experience the meaning of their work, connect with their personal values, and draw strength to live the mission with commitment and generosity of spirit. 
    • Fosters the integration of spirituality in the healing and care giving process.
    • Promotes diversity, inclusion, and equity
    • Serves on hiring teams for key positions.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Employee will be required to travel from time to time to accommodate needs of various sites.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role, filing is required and some lifting, twisting, standing, bending will occur.  90% of work will require some sort of physical activity to be performed. Employee will be required to travel from time to time and must be willing to travel to various clinic work locations as events dictate. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalence in healthcare, theology, spirituality, or ethics.
    • Formation in Catholic theology and Vincentian charism or completion within one year of hire.
    • Demonstrates deep personal spirituality and spiritual grounding.
    • Understanding of organizations, formation, planning.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and associates.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Demonstrated experience in ethical leadership rooted in strong personal spiritual grounding
    • Knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and Ethical and Religious Directives for Health Care 
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
