Mission College Prep seeks a full-time Director of Student Life who will support the moral, developmental, academic, and social, progress of each student in grades 9-12, in partnership with faculty, staff, and parents.
The Director of Student Life works with colleagues to facilitate the formation of MCP students in alignment with the values and dispositions expressed within the school’s Profile of the Graduate. The Director of Student Life makes proactive decisions that seek to balance the needs of individual students with the needs of the rest of the MCP community. These decisions are made within a progressive educational community that strives to know and support individual students in their developmental context while consistently holding them accountable for their behavior.
The Director of Student Life is responsible for managing a number of high school systems, including disciplinary programs, academic integrity, and campus supervision. The Director of Student Life also oversees health, safety, and emergency management of students, faculty and staff.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have considerable experience within a Catholic high school setting and will display a willingness to promote Catholic ideals and culture;
- Have classroom teaching experience as well as a developmental sensitivity and understanding of adolescence;
- Possess experience and expertise with direct student supervision, program management, and considerable work with student accountability and direct parent communication;
- Have at least a Bachelor’s degree (Secondary Teaching Credential or Administrative Services Credential preferred);
- Use excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, especially in articulating the values and mission of MCP and of Catholic education;
- Highly self-directed with an attention to detail and the ability to organize effectively.
- Works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders; and,
- Willing to be active in the local community.
