    Description

    Job Objective:

    The Senior Director of Mission Services is responsible for the oversight of Goodwill Mission programs with a focus on Nurse Family Partnership (NFP). The Director is responsible for managing multi-million-dollar budgets and grants, cultivating community support for programs, and creating an atmosphere that promotes trust, cooperation, and customer service excellence. The Senior Director works within the local, state and national community to assure the NFP program is implemented according to established guidelines. The Senior Director is Goodwill’s liaison to the NFP National Service Office, the Indiana Department of Health. The role has overall responsibility for providing the strategic direction for the Nurse-Family Partnership program in alignment with Goodwill’s strategic plan. This position leads the development of service delivery standards and procedures for the program, as well as proactively researches and recommends courses of action to prevent problems and maintain high client graduation levels for the NFP client community. This position reports to the Chief Mission Officer who evaluates performance annually.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission: Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.
    • Implement Goodwill’s strategic plan across NFP and other programs as assigned.
    • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, budget management and monitoring in collaboration with directors, supervisors, and program managers.
    • Establish and maintain a positive work environment and culture based on trust, support, and growth with team colleagues and community members.
    • Collaborate with other Goodwill program directors to facilitate client access to services across programs.
    • Oversee performance against projects and committed timelines.
    • Develop career paths and training objectives for staff as well as evaluation recommendations.
    • Actively engage peer group in decision-making activities and policy discussions.
    • Manage strategic community partnerships.
    • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed.
    • Provide overall direction and management for strategy, guidelines and procedures concerning best practices, systems, and methodology.
    • Ensure quality in all areas and encourage teamwork by coaching and providing support.
    • Create opportunities to increase efficiencies and effectiveness of tools and methodologies for talent acquisition.
    • Monitor the performance of staff on an on-going basis and conduct an annual performance review for direct reports.
    • Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance.
    • Monitor the monthly cash flow of expenses for multiple grants including MIECH-V ARP 1, MIECH-V ARP 2, TANF, Title V NFP, IDOH-Mental Health, IMHC - Together We Will, Health Care Foundation of LaPorte County, Community Foundation of Elkhart County, Title V Competitive Diapers and More, IDOH - My Health Baby Workforce Stabilization, IDOH New State Expansion.
    • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community agencies/organizations, including funders, local and state government officials, and other organizations and stakeholders to help achieve program goals and streamline services.
    • Develop, monitor and ensure accountability on all Memorandums of Understanding (MOU’s).
    • Monitor progress toward attainment of program goals and outcomes.
    • Encourage and support quality improvement training, projects, and processes.
    • Ensure staff have access to and are adequately trained in using data collection tools, platforms, and evaluation processes to meet reporting requirements and to inform decision making for program improvement.
    • Ensure timely submission of all required internal and external program reports.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications


    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated ability to improve quality based on data-driven evaluation.
    • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set, and achieve strategic objectives.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data, seek additional information, and make necessary adjustments to assure achievement of program goals.
    • Ability to read a budget and understand general accounting rules.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
    • Skilled program supervisor with track record of developing trusting relationships at all levels.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, communities, and organizations.
    • Strong management skills with a servant leadership style compatible with Goodwill’s Principles-based management philosophy.
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
    • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 15 years of senior management experience in a customer service centric category such as healthcare, retail, or hospitality.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
    • Travel to meetings and events within the community.
