    Purpose of Position

    Installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots computer equipment on simulators both in house and onsite.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Assembly and integration of equipment cabinets and subsystems on production devices.
    • Installation of software on the production devices.
    • In house visual support of production devices.
    • Modify procedures under supervision of lead.
    • Support site installation of production devices. Travel is required.
    • Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
    •      Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments.
    • Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
    • Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
    • Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
    • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

    Minimum Education

    • Tech CS I (Grade 8) - AS in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of the inner workings of a PC. Ability to change user serviceable parts. Current CompTIA A or higher certification preferred, but is required within 12 months of hire.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
    • Intermediate knowledge of Windows Os and Server OS.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
    • PC, Workstation, Laptop, Server, peripherals, common PC buss hardware, networking basics. Basic knowledge of hand tools. Be able to interpret drawings.
    • LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    • Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; Able to read and interpret documents: Able to write routine reports and correspondence:  Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.
    • REASONING ABILITY:
    • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
    • Valid Driver’s License, where applicable.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must work with keyboard, mouse, and monitor for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
