POSITION TITLE: Casino Host
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Casino Host is responsible for promoting and coordinating programs, activities and special events to attract mid level and high limit guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes relationships with guests to encourage property loyalty, repeat visits and guest satisfaction.
- Communicates and develops good working relationships with all departments acting as a liaison between the guests and the casino.
- Circulates casino floor meeting new guests and greeting familiar guests by name.
- Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service and responsiveness.
- Resolves internal and external guest issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of all property and community activities, promotions and special events.
- Actively promotes all events, activities and promotions to both internal and external guests.
- Works with Marketing to develop an exciting environment for internal and external guests.
- Adheres to all departmental and company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, attendance, comps, hotel reservations, event processing, transportation, phone and email.
- Understands and assists in monitoring department objectives, standards, guidelines, and budget to maximize the bottom line profits.
- Maintains an active role in on-property and off-property Player Development.
- Communicates with all guest service departments to develop and implement strategies and programs to increase the market for new and existing high-limit guests.
- Assists both table and slot personnel in player identification.
- Accurately prepares all daily/weekly departmental paperwork.
- Adheres to strong confidentiality standards for both internal and external guests.
- Remains flexible to work extended hours as necessary to support a 24/7 operation.
- Other tasks as requested by management.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
Mississippi Gaming License REQUIRED.
EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Player Development, Hosting or comparable position.
- Proficient in Patron Management Systems (including reports and Contact), Epitome, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Customer service oriented with strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Capable of working well with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledgeable of slot and table operations, casino policies and procedures, casino floor layout and all events and promotions.
- Professional appearance and demeanor required.
- Capable of working independently with limited supervision and still meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
The following activities are normally required:
- Speak clearly and listen attentively to all guests and crewmembers.
- Stand, walk and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length.
- Lifting of small boxes, reaching and bending.
- Read, speak and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Math skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Work in areas that contain second hand smoke.
