Executive Chef directs and oversees kitchen operations, including menu development, purchasing, inventory, cost control and sanitation. Creates and updates menus that will appeal to customers, utilize seasonal ingredients, and maximize profits. Being an Executive Chef develops and tests new recipes. Solicits and studies customer feedback to maintain high standards of quality and satisfaction. Additionally, Executive Chef troubleshoots and resolves operational issues. Complies with all safety and food sanitation laws and regulations. Supervises, trains, and mentors staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in culinary arts or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Executive Chef typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Executive Chef typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Pay

    Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $73400 - $99100 / year

    In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range.     Responsibilities

    • Lead and cook by example and provide guidance to all team members. Ensure kitchen operations are established and can run smoothly and efficiently in your absence.
    • Develop and maintain recipes, portion specifications, standard preparation procedures and ensure that all cooks are following these standards.
    • Coordinate training activities for kitchen and back-of-house associates to meet service level standards.
    • Hire, train, and mobilize kitchen and service teams.
    • Determine purchasing specifications and budgetary allotments for all menu items.
    • Prepare operational reports; highlight progress, adverse trends, and make recommendations for success.
    • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all company and health department policies, regulations, and standards.
    • Possess working knowledge of company invoice tracking, labor tracking, schedule preparation, food cost management, labor cost management, inventory control, and hiring, counseling, and termination policies.
    • Ability to drive a company vehicle as needed on property.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum two years’ experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume industry-leading concept with five years' culinary experience in established restaurants and catering companies
    • Certificate or degree in Culinary Arts preferred; ServSafe and Food Safety Handler certifications required
    • Strong financial and computer skills; experience working with and understanding of P&Ls and budgeting; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and point-of-sale (POS) systems
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs
    • Proven ability to lead team members clearly and concisely while positively influencing behavior and performance
    • Possess a valid driver's license.
    • Successful completion of a background check, including MVR and drug test required.
