Executive Compensation Manager is responsible for the analysis and administration of executive compensation programs, annual and long-term incentive programs, and deferred compensation plans. Provide consultation on executive compensation matters to senior executives and human resources. Being an Executive Compensation Manager oversees the preparation of compensation data for proxy disclosure and compensation committee meetings. Assists executive directly or engages/manages outside consultants with tax matters related to compensation. Additionally, Executive Compensation Manager directs the salary survey process and evaluates market data for executive positions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. May require Certified Compensation Professional. The Executive Compensation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Position Summary:
Under general direction of the Human Resources Manager or designee, plans, develops and administers the classification and compensation plan for Los Alamos County; assists in the development of performance management and performance-driven pay policies and plans; coordinates and recommends annual updates in the compensation plan; assures communication with departments and employees; assures all compensation and classification compliance and reporting requirements are met. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Four years of experience in compensation management.
- Four years of supervisory experience across all years of job experience.
- Professional Human Resource Certification (PHR), Senior Professional Human Resource Certification (SPHR), SHRM – Certified Professional (CP), or SHRM – Senior Certified Professional (SCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications in compensation.
- Advanced skills in Excel.
- Public sector Human Resources experience.
- Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) experience and/or Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP).
