POSITION SUMMARY:

Directs Housekeeping and Laundry department within the standards set forth by Historic Hotel Bethlehem.  The Executive Housekeeper is responsible but not limited to the following: Supervises housekeeping and laundry employees, plans and assigns work assignments, gives training for newly recruited employees, audits and inspects housekeeping personnel work assignments and requisitions supplies.  The position is also responsible for the quality of service, guest satisfaction along with the cleanliness of guest rooms and public space.

REQUIREMENTS:

MUST HAVE HOTEL HOUSEKEEPING EXPERIENCE – NO EXCEPTIONS

• Minimum of three years as an assistant housekeeper or supervisor in a hotel
  • You must have experience at a 3 diamond hotel and higher
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends and holidays
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to communicate effectively and verbally in English
• Excellent hospitality skills
• Self-motivated with organizational skills and attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for cleanliness, organization and appearance of the entire Hotel.
• Ensure that rooms are prepared as per company standards.
• Order, maintain and organize par stock of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen and uniforms.
• Must be able to adhere to and enforce company dress code policy at all times – no visible tattoos, females may only wear one earring per ear, and men must be clean shaven at all times.
• Must have strong human resource skills in dealing with associate challenges as well as problem solving in these situations.
• Responsible for daily operation of full service hotel laundry.
• Adhere to housekeeping systems and procedures.
• Create and promote a positive work environment, morale and a cohesive team.
• Effective communication with engineering department for maintenance needs.
• Effective communication with the food and beverage department for linen and other applicable needs.
• Effective communication with vendors
• Assessing applications/resumes of applicants along with interviewing and hiring new team members.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Must be able to create an effective schedule for the department based on business needs.
• Responsible for logging, maintaining, and returning guest items in lost and found.
• Daily inspection of public areas.
• Daily briefing of supervisors and associates.
• Immediately attend to guest requests.
• Ability to deal well with people in a professional and courteous manner.
• Must have basic computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have the physical capability to lift, push or pull at least 30-50 pounds. Also, applicants must have the ability to use abdominal and back muscles and be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Must also have the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists, and to reach and stretch, bend, kneel and squat.

There will be a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and a nationwide criminal background check. Previous employment will be verified and references will be thoroughly checked.
