The Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbor Hotel in San Pedro, CA is looking for an Executive Housekeeper. The right candidate will be someone who enjoys interacting with people and readily displays warm hospitality to all guests.
Principal Responsibilities:
Greets guests as they enter, monitoring the volume of food to ensure guest satisfaction, placing order for more food items as needed, maintaining a clean and orderly dining space for guests, maintaining a courteous and efficient operation to ensure guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
Manage the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department, scheduling employees to ensure proper coverage.
· Ensure all team members are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.
· Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms/suites and public areas to ensure everything is clean and in good repair.
· Monitor and control expenses and minimize waste in all areas of housekeeping.
· Interview, select, and train Housekeeping team members in proper work procedures and techniques.
· Supervise and monitor work performance of team members by conducting room inspections. Provide coaching and counseling of team members and conduct performance reviews when needed.
· Maintain par levels for supplies and equipment. Replenish shortages and necessary supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
· Plan and conduct staff meetings to review pertinent information on daily activities and ensure open communication amongst team members.
· Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
· Attend various operational related meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
· Ensure all procedures are completed to the hotel’s standards, and assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY

QUALIFYING STANDARDS
Education
At least 2-year college (Associate) degree preferred.
Experience
Minimum of five years supervisory and/or management experience in Hotel industry preferred. Knowledge of general safety procedures, proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling requirements, and use of housekeeping equipment.
Grooming
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
The ideal candidate will put pride in their work, be reliable, and be friendly and professional at all times. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. A high school graduate education or equivalent is required. One year of experience as a Hotel Housekeeper is preferred.
