Develops and tests recipes and sources ingredients to create unique pastries and baked goods. Being a Executive Pastry Chef creates dessert menus that complement meal offerings, appeal to diners and maximize profits. Follows all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling and safety. Additionally, Executive Pastry Chef maintains a clean and orderly workstation and kitchen equipment. May require an associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent. Typically reports to an executive chef. The Executive Pastry Chef supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Executive Pastry Chef typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Duties:
- Greet guests with a warm and friendly welcome
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Manage the waitlist and seating arrangements
- Answer phone calls and assist with reservations
- Assist with guest inquiries and provide information about the restaurant
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary
Requirements:
- Previous experience in guest services or customer service is preferred
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or similar restaurant POS systems is a plus
- Knowledge of hotel or food service industry is beneficial
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with composure
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
