North Shore Boulangerie is looking for an experienced, professional pastry chef that enjoys creative independence in making classic French desserts/entremets. A well-stocked kitchen is at your disposal with exceptional equipment and domestic and imported ingredients.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of French pastries and desserts according to recipes and standards
- Measure and mix ingredients, roll dough, shape pastries, and decorate baked goods
- Monitor baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely delivery
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of pastry supplies
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a pastry or bakery setting is required
- Knowledge of pastry techniques, including dough preparation, baking, and decorating
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
