Executive Steward oversees staff responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen(s) or other food preparation areas. Assists in cleaning equipment or food preparation areas as needed. Being an Executive Steward is responsible for inventory control and kitchen equipment, item management. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations. Additionally, Executive Steward may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Executive Steward supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Executive Steward typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES
PREREQUISITES
General: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must qualify for a Tribal non-gaming license.
Education: High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required. Ability to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace desirable.
Experience: Entry-level position.
Physical: Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and carry dish racks weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen. Is also able to perform shift work regularly.
