Executive Steward oversees staff responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen(s) or other food preparation areas. Assists in cleaning equipment or food preparation areas as needed. Being an Executive Steward is responsible for inventory control and kitchen equipment, item management. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations. Additionally, Executive Steward may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Executive Steward supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Executive Steward typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, cookware, and silverware
Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
Sweep and mop all floors in kitchen area to ensure they are free of food and water
Stock all food areas with necessary inventory
Bag and haul trash to dumpster at designated times
Inspects kitchens, workrooms, and equipment for cleanliness and order
Reports shortages and requisitions replacement of equipment
Follows the Thoughtful Service model at all times
Knowledgeable of the Indiana Gaming regulations as well as Tropicana Evansvilles internal controls, policies and procedures
Must be available for regularly scheduled work and able to work a variety of hours, holidays and weekends
Performs other duties as assigned
