Summary

Under the direction, approval, and supervision of physician may: Conduct initial interviews & ongoing patient non-physical assessment/plan of care/ITP updates; Assist with exercise screening & testing: (ROM, 6MWT);Formulates, develops, and implements exercise prescription protocols or programs; Protocols & programs- the intensity, duration, frequency, mode, and rate of progression of activity to improve or maintain individual overall health & functional capacity; Develop short & long term goals appropriate for patient

Responsibilities

• Obtain VS & monitor HR, BP, ECG;
• Provides risk factor modification to individuals with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases;
• Provides/promotes health related education;
• Telemetry monitoring & interpretation;
• Enter charges;
• Stock supplies;
• Crash cart & refrigerator temperature logs;
• Triage phone calls/follow-up calls for missed appointments;
• Inpatient visits to discuss Phase II Cardiac Rehab;
• Individual exercise and education criteria updates
• Instructs education classes, as needed
• Collaborate with nursing on written plan of care for exercise
• Outcome data & program reports to Medical Oversight
• Update registry information (data collection) when needed

Requirements

• Attend departmental staff meetings
• Achieves & maintains accreditation standards
• Maintains unit based competencies
• WedEds
• Maintain certifications and licensure for ACLS & BLS

As Needed/Requested:

• Assist with Cardiac Testing & Procedures
• Assist with Cardiac Monitors
• Attend Red Dress Event
• Attend Interventional Reunion Dinner
