Exercise Physiologist jobs in Los Angeles, CA

Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be an Exercise Physiologist typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    Work-Fit provides services as part of the Industrial Athlete (IA) program for The Boeing Company.  Services will include Job Conditioning, Symptom Intervention, and other Prevention services.  This position will support operations at Boeing-El Segundo which is part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Applicant needs to be a self-starter and able to work independently without direct supervision.
    • Demonstrates exceptional ability to engage employees in all services in the industrial setting.
    • The ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, motivator and work well as part of a team.
    • Needs to be a natural leader, thinking outside of their comfort zone.
    • Adhere to the standards of practice as outlined in the Work-Fit/Boeing SOP
    • Able to focus, organize, and prioritize delivery of services.
    • Desire to be an integral piece of the largest Industrial Athlete program in the country.
    • Degree in Exercise Science, Fitness, or related field
    • Current certification as exercise professional with national organization in good standing
    • Current First Aid/CPR certification
    • Experience in teaching group exercise classes to adults
    • Competency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel
