Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     JOB SUMMARY

    We are seeking an Exercise Physiologist to develop, coordinate and implement exercise related programs including marketing, research, and internships. Provide exercise-related education for patients and the community. Responsible for all exercise science standards needed to meet regulatory and credentialing requirements.

     

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform Cardiopulmonary Stress Testing, in normal and high risk population.
    • Assist with oversight and daily operations of clinical and non- clinical programs.
    • Assist manager with program compliance, benchmarking and performance improvement.
    • Required to have clinical knowledge of disease management programming multiple co-morbidities.
    • Recognizes symptom changes/signs of problems and knows the appropriate medical response and processes. Initiates first responder care.
    • Performs all Exercise Specialist duties and diagnostic testing independently as required by work site.
    • Other tasks as needed to support the team and exceptional patient care.

     

    JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science. Bachelor's degree plus ACSM-CEP accepted.
    • Minimum 1 year of applicable experience, preferrably 2 years of applicable experience. 

    • ACLS required (must attain within 6 months of hire date).

    •  

      ACSM Clinical Certification as Exercise Specialist or Health Fitness instructor (must attain within 6 months of hire date).

       

    JOB HOURS

    The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
