Required Degree: Master or PhD of Science, in a field related to musculoskeletal anatomy. The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: Must demonstrate experience in anatomy lab including dissection experience. Clinical practice experience is preferred.

Duties/Expectations: The successful candidate will be expected to work under the direction of a Faculty Anatomy Liaison Supervisor in completing the following:

• Ensure orderly operation of the anatomy lab for EXSC 440, 668 and 497R (used in the past for dissection)
• In conjunction with the Faculty Anatomy Supervisor, solicit and approve graduate students to work in the anatomy lab.
• Education and coordination of head graduate TA and other TA's of duties and responsibilities which include the following:
• Decide on the proper number of lab sections to be offered for each semester (time and day) in coordination with the graduate secretary and Faculty Anatomy Supervisor
• Teach 2-3 lab sections and at least 2 sections of open lab each semester (with a goal of having lab instructors to keep consistency in material taught).
• Oversee and coordinate students involved in the dissection (497R) class. This includes the student selection for this course.
• Oversee and coordinate the times of dissection for the EXSC 668 graduate course so that dissection is completed carefully and in a timely manner (The 668 course will not have enough dissection time within the class meeting times).
• Direct and assist in the dissection of cadavers to meet the needs of the EXSC 668 and EXSC 440 courses.
• Coordinate the purchase of major supplies needed in the lab (i.e. cadavers, teaching models, skeletons, body bags, cadaver boxes, chemicals needed for wetting solution, scalpels, gloves, etc.
• Maintain records and proper cycle time of cadavers, which includes pick-up, and return of cadavers from University of Utah body donner program.
• Maintain care and frequent cleaning of the current models and bones.
• Keep the faculty anatomy liaison informed of all laboratory needs (supplies) and report weekly on progress for lab instruction and student responses/needs
• Coordinate the quiz schedule for all labs to maintain consistency between lab quiz material and content.
• Keep track of any student that does not take an exam and report this to the students lecture teacher as well as the faculty anatomy liaison.
• Keep a copy of the results of all lab exams and quizzes so we have a backup in case of loss of any exams or quizzes by the lecture instructors or in case of student inquiries.
• Help cover lecture courses when faculty instructors are away and unable to be at class.
