ABOUT THE ROSWELL ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE FOUNDATION
The Roswell Artist in Residence Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support visual artists with time, space, and resources through our flagship year-long artists-in-residence program in Roswell, NM; showcase the work of residency alumni in the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art (AMoCA); and inspire connections among our artists-in-residence, alumni, and the broader community.
NOTE: This is an in-person position in Roswell, New Mexico.
AMOCA MUSUM DIRECTOR: ROLES AND RESPONSBILITIES
· Oversee all aspects of AMoCA’s day-to-day operations. Staffing and volunteers: Oversee, train, delegate and support the paid staff.
· Art Collection: Oversee the acquisition, care and maintenance, documentation, presentation, framing, loans, and other special conditions of the museum’s collection of works.
· Programming: Conceive and create programs for the community, including exhibitions, lectures, and music series on the Bösendorfer.
· RAiR Archives and Library: Maintain up-to-date records on all of the art and artists represented in the collection; stay abreast of RAiR alumni and their activities.
· RAiR dinners: Coordinate with the artist, the RAiR program director, the caterer, and the Roswell Museum to arrange dinners after the RAiR artist openings.
· Gift shop/gallery: Oversee gift shop offerings and gallery consignments; arrange for shipping and printing when needed.
· Rentals: Promote and coordinate rentals of our space for community events.
· Membership: Oversee the yearly membership drive; maintain a master mailing list.
· Develop strategies and marketing materials to market and brand the museum and it’s events, artist’s dinners, and concerts in collaboration with the Digital Media Manager.
· Routinely monitor and schedule maintenance for the museum facilities and the piano.
· Set up/take down chairs, tables, and other necessities for AMoCA events (including RAiR dinners) and rentals
· Adhere to annual operational budgeting.
· Assist in fundraising and grant-writing activities related to the collection and museum programming.
· Routinely monitors and evaluate the physical conditions of the building and grounds.
· Maintain productive relationships with artists, volunteers, and the public.
· Maintain an in-depth understanding of the institution's existing collection.
· Serve on the Collections Committee and provide professional advice in recommending or rejecting potential objects for acquisition (through deed of gift, purchase, or conversion from loan to gift) or for deaccession within the context of the Collections Policy.
