Exhibit Designer - Museum designs and constructs museum collections, exhibits, and special projects. Researches ideas and materials for an exhibit, recommends solutions for design problems, and utilizes design techniques to produce desired visual effect and educational message. Being an Exhibit Designer - Museum may require a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Exhibit Designer - Museum gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. - Create detailed 3D CAD drawings for various projects using Solidworks
- Collaborate with welders and machine operators to better understand how to improve desings. Review and revise drawings based on feedback and changes.
- Generate bills of materials, schematics, and other technical documentation.
We are looking to hire someone with experience in Solidworks. A background in fabrication, or architectural design would be helpful for this position. We use Solidworks to design stairs, handrails, truck beds, farm equipment and more. The position will require job managment and quoting as well. An understanding of bending and laser cutting would be useful for the postition.
