Expatriate Administration Supervisor supervises the human resources aspects of international employee placements. Ensures policies and procedures are followed for placing expatriates. Being an Expatriate Administration Supervisor leads visa procurement, tax equalization and coordination of housing, benefits, and compensation packages. Works with relocation firms, international agencies, and government officials. Additionally, Expatriate Administration Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Expatriate Administration Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Expatriate Administration Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     CLOSING DATE: April 5, 2024

    POSITION: Court Aministration Supervisor

    SALARY: $26.50-$29.82, per hour DOE

    REPORTS TO: Chief Judge - Court of Appeals

    LOCATION: Court of Appeals; Nespelem, Washington

    Basic Functions: Provides day-to-day administration for the Court of Appeals, as well as legal research and writing for Justices; administration includes supervising Court Clerk,  monitoring file maintenance, calendar dockets, budgets, general court operations, and working with Chief Justice to develop and update Court policies and procedures.

    Qualifications


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Training: 

    • Requires a BA (preferred) OR an AA degree with 5 years’ experience in legal and clerical administration. OR 10 years of experience may substitute in lieu of a degree.

    • Requires a valid state Drivers' License and must maintain throughout employment. 

    • Must have never been convicted or found guilty of a felony, or within one year past of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude. 

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

    • Requires knowledge of the Tribal Court systems and their organizational and operational responsibilities and requirements.

    • Requires knowledge of the statutory and case laws of the Tribes, including a working knowledge of legal terms and practices.

    • Requires a high level grammatical and spelling skills. Familiarity with timekeeping records, processes regarding timesheets and vouchering.

    • Requires knowledge and experience with budgets and relevant tasks, including developing budgets, monitoring budgets, and continually assessing budgetary needs of the Court of Appeals.

    • Requires high level of organizational skills. 

    • Requires the ability to operate computers and programs relevant to position. WordPerfect is preferred, and must be learned on the job if not familiar with it.

    • Requires ability to do basic legal research and writing memoranda when requested.

    • Requires ability to take directions from Chief Justice appropriate to the position in assisting in the development of court policies and procedures.

    • Requires ability to maintain high moral character.

    • Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

    • Requires ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written format.

    • Requires ability to maintain effective working relationship with the public, other tribal employees, and court staff.

    • Requires ability to function indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. 

    • Requires ambulatory ability to sit for extended periods of time, to utilize microcomputers and peripheral equipment, and to move about various campus locations.

    • Requires the ability to use near vision to read printed materials. 

    • Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone. 

    • Requires the ability to retrieve work materials from overhead, waist, and ground level files. 

    • Requires sustained repetitive motions and manual and finger dexterity to write, use a pointing device, keyboard at an acceptable, operate microcomputer, and operate other office equipment.  

     

    Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

     

    TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

     

    If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
