Typically reports to a manager. The Expatriate Administration Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Expatriate Administration Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     General Summary

    Under general supervision of the director of student administration, assists in providing students and their families with administrative or personal guidance in such areas as enrollment of new students, discipline, and attendance;

    helps school staff foster good relationships with teachers, families and peers.

    Essential Job Functions

    Supports and upholds the mission, vision and strategic goals of Lexington County School District One.

    Effectively interacts, communicates and collaborates with all stakeholders.

    Establishes a safe, supportive, positive and productive working and learning environment.

    Assists all schools in programs and policies regarding student discipline and welfare.

    Interprets the professional functions of student administration to administrators, teachers, students, parents and the public.

    Assists in attendance and truancy matters.

    Conducts and follows up on all student discipline hearings in accordance with applicable board policies.

    Provides or recommends appropriate programs dealing with the rights of students, to include due process, welfare and safety.

    Maintains effective working relationships with other institutions of the town, region and state that may be of use to administrators, teachers, parents and students.

    Confers with parents, teachers, school counselors and related personnel on matters of discipline and student welfare.

    Participates and cooperates with community agencies and programs, as assigned.

    Assists with the planning and supervision of an orientation program for student administration, as appropriate.

    Assists with professional learning for district staff regarding matters related to student administration.

    Reviews and makes recommendations to the director of student administration for program improvement and needed changes in district policies and procedures.

    Participates in all district professional meetings and professional learning sessions as required.

    Assumes responsibility for personal professional learning; stays abreast of current literature, new research findings and improved techniques in specialized areas related to student services.

    Selects, requests, and maintains an inventory of instructional aides, technology tools, equipment, and supplies needed for daily activities;

    ensures safe storage and proper use of all materials, tools, and equipment.

    Effectively uses personal technology devices and software applications for the management of pertinent information and communication.

    Performs other related duties as required.

    Minimum Education / Work Experience

    Administrative Certificate Add-On / (Secondary Principal) by June, 30, 2024

    3 years of teaching experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in the implementation of programs and policies regarding student discipline and welfare.

    Experience in the expulsion hearing process.

    Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Experience in addressing student attendance including truancy matters.

    Evidence in the ability to serve on a strong, vision-focused, service-oriented team of professionals.

    Experience in providing professional learning to staff.

    Evidence of assisting with a student drug testing program.

    Demonstrated record of success in interpreting data and leading strategic initiatives that resulted in measurable improvements.

    Evidence of assisting families in the student enrollment process.

    Knowledge / Skills

    Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and activities of the school district which pertain to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position.

    Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and operations. Ability to demonstrate proper maintenance, safe operation, and utilization of equipment, materials, and supplies used in daily activities.

    Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in exercising duties. Ability to anticipate work to be completed and to complete work without the need for direct supervision.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and student records and information. Ability to interact and communicate in an effective and professional manner with supervisors, co-workers, teachers, students, and the general public.

    Working Conditions

    Work is conducted primarily indoors with no significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Physical demands are generally restricted to general office work requiring the occasional lifting and moving of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds.

    Requires ability to conduct duties that require constant attention and meeting tight deadlines. Local travel is required;

    Evaluation

    Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Staff.
